Gracielle Ophelia

We are here to honor the death of poor Ophelia. Wishing she was still living we have to remember Ophelia being at her happiest. Though she went through multiple obstacles in her life she still remained to look at the good. This year has most likely been the hardest fir her by far, dealing with the heartbreak by Hamlet, that played a very big part in her behavior change. Later hearing her father has been killed, I feel like that the breaking point for the poor girl. Ophelia was a very strong, lovely girl. her attitude always brightened up our day, it still seen so unreal, I cannot believe she has passed. Are we wrong to not bring Hamlet into this? She loved him so dearly, why wasn't her there to help the hurting Ophelia? We all knew about the love they had for each other, they did not need to argue, if anything Hamlet could have saved her. It is his fault, Ophelia was hurting, all she needed was his love. I'm sorry, we cannot blame anyone for this. Feeling the need to die shows Ophelia has reached her breaking point, she could have came to anyone of us. Her behavior changed completely before her past, I do not understand why she didn't say anything, why didn't she speak out? Killing herself can show, maybe death is dreaming, is Ophelia dreaming right now? Hopefully, she is not so angry anymore, hopefully the pain has eased and she is happy now. She has saved herself from the emotional pain we deal with in this world. Ophelia must be happy, no girl her age should go through what she went through, we need to come together as one and make sure none of this happens again.
"The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living," Marcus. that quote reflects on what we need to go for her and each other. Remember how happy Ophelia was her beauty, and her passionate love she shared with everyone. Her anger was only triggered by the heartbreak and death of her father, but he is not the one to blame. I am sure many of us would act in such madness if that happened to any of us. she wanted closure, Ophelia wanted happiness. It is stubborn of us to blame her and think any differently of how she acted these past weeks, and her suicide. As we end this ceremony may we all come together for God's forgiveness on s and Ophelia, but ask for his grace and please Ophelia, she has been through enough. thank you for attending. Remember we all re the same, we are all a family!

  1. Interesting Blog! It was cool to see how you interpreted the scene in a different way than I did. For example, you feel like Ophelia committed suicide because she was dealing with a load of stuff ( which she was) but I don't think her heartbreak with Hamlet played a big role in her madness. I say this because when Polonius told Ophelia to break up with Hamlet, she did so with no question and showed no emotion. If she truly loved him she probably wouldn't have gave him up so easily. However, the death of her father was difficult to her to bear. In conclusion what happened to Ophelia was tragic and shouldn't have to happen to anyone, especially at the age. But that's just Shakespeare for ya !!!

  3. I agree with how you think that Hamlet was the start to Ophelia's madness but the death of her father was what brought her to her end. If Hamlet realized how much he loved her while she was still alive he could have prevented her death from happening. She was craving his love and she was not receiving it. I would not have wanted to be Ophelia, but I think if I was her I would have reacted the same but I would look for help to get me through the rough time. Losing a lover and then your father is tragic, especially to a girl that is so good and positive. I'm glad to see that you feel the same way and have the same idea as I do.
